||The Spanish composer and pianist Enrique Granados (1867-1916) is recognized, along with Isaac Albeniz, for forging a new direction in Spanish music, combining Romantic European influences (Grieg, Schumann, Liszt... ) with strong nationalist personalities. Most of Granados' output was piano and vocal music.
