Arthur Lauer was born in Chicago in 1932 and attended Lane Tech High School. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Lauer returned to Chicago to pursue a playing career as a woodwind specialist in musical theater and as a studio musician. He also composed jingles for commercials and eventually taught composition and orchestration for film and studio at Roosevelt University. Lauer has written for solo instruments, chamber groups as well as works for full orchestra and a full length ballet commissioned by the University of Wyoming in Laramie. |
