| Olivier Pasquet was born in Paris in 1974. After studying electronic engineering and computer science, he worked as an assistant sound engineer in several studios in France. In 1997 he decided to follow his principal interests by taking a one-year course in Music Technology, and then an MA in Electroacoustic Music Composition, at APU in Cambridge.
Olivier enjoys organising and performing in concerts and other musical events using new media and, although his main focus remains on pure musical composition, he also pursues opportunities to implement his compositions within a multimedia environment, games, sound designs and cinema. Last year the French Computer Music Conference (JIM98) selected his piece Aeo/us Sleep for performance. Since January 1999 Olivier has held a post at IRCAM in Paris, where both his works in tonight's concert were written. |
