Augusta Read Thomas is currently establishing one of the most significant careers as a young composer in the United States and around the world. A graduate of Northwestern University and Yale University, she has received an impressive list of awards, including Guggenheim fellowship, and grants and prizes from the NEA and ASCAP. Her works have been performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and she has been commissioned by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra for a premiere in the year 2000. |
