Marilyn Shrude (piano/composition) received degrees from Alverno College and Northwestern University. In 1997 Shrude was named a winner of the Academy of Arts and Letters music award. Other honors include the Kennedy Center Friedheim Award for Orchestral Music, an NEA Fellowship, the Phi Kappa Phi Creative Achievement Award, a Distinguished Teaching Award, the Alverno College Alumna of the Year Award, a Women of Achievement Award (Women in Communications), and the 1998 Cleveland Arts Award. Dr. Shrude teaches and serves as director of the Mid-American Center for Contemporary Music at Bowling Green State University and chair of the BGSU Composition/History Department. |
