The Adelphi Saucophone Quartet was formed in 1990 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Now established as one of Britain's finest young chamber ensembles, they have a string of notable successes to their name.

In 1994 the Quartet received a major award from the John Tunnel Trust. 1995 saw them perform as part of the Park Lane Group's Young Artists Series. The following year they gave a live recital on Classic FM, while in 1997 they were finalists in the Royal Over-Seas League Competition. They have performed at major London venues such as the Purcell Room, Barbican Centre, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and St. James's Piccadilly as well as at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall. Festival appearances include the Northern Lights Festival and the British Saxophone Congress. The ASQ have also played live on Granada Television and are featured regularly on BBC Radio 3.

The Quartet's busy schedule of concerts and educational workshops takes them all over Britain and their CD, entitled "Sirnply Four Saxophones" and released as part of the EMI Classics Debut Series, has brought critical acclaim for the level of musicianship and ensemble playing that it displays.

The Adelphi Saxophone Quartet's imaginative and diverse programmes contain an exciting blend of classical repertoire, contemporary works, light music and jazz.

"The Adelphi Saxophone Quartet is ready to make the saxophone not just classically respectable but joyously adventurous" The Times

"...intonation and ensemble are exemplary...the quartet has an admirable blend of sound" BBC Music Magazine
