Formed in 1968, the Chicago Saxophone Quartet is a dynamic and virtuosic ensemble that has achieved a distinguished reputation for excellence in musical performance. Over the past twenty-nine years, members of the Quartet have played for enthusiastic audiences in Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia.

Throughout its history, the Chicago Saxophone Quartet has undertaken a diverse array of performance opportunities. In addition to the ensemble's many concerts and residencies at universities and arts centers, members of the Quartet have appeared with several orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Grant Park Orchestra of Chicago. Moreover, the Quartet has been featured on the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, the nationally-syndicated radio station WFMT, and the Chicago TV station WTTW, and has recorded for both Coronet and Brewster Records. In 1991, the CSQ released its first compact disc, "The Chicago Saxophone Quartet", on the Centaur label, and it released the compact disc "Capriccio" with the Indiana State University Wind Ensemble in 1994 on the Truemedia label.
