Claude Delangle is considered a master of the French saxophone school in classical and contemporary music, and it's easy to see why. Since receiving first prizes in saxophone (1977) and chamber music (1979) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, Claude Delangle has developed a remarkable career as an international soloist, combining concerts and recordings with top-level teaching.

In 1986, Delangle was personally chosen by Pierre Boulez to be the soloist for his Ensemble InterContemporain. Delangle has also performed as soloist with the Orchestre National de France, Radio France (N.O.P.), the Florida Philharmonic, the Zagreb Philharmonic, the Colorado Philharmonic, and various ensembles (Percussions de Stasbourg, etc.). He now plays regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic. Delangle has collaborated with such notables as Peter Eötvös, Kent Nagano, Armin Jordan, M.W. Chung, Leonard Bernstein, and L. Foster.

Delangle has made nearly 20 recordings, and has toured internationally, most recently in the USA, Canada, and Japan. He performed the world premier of Edison Denisov's Saxophone Concerto at the 10th World Saxophone Congress in Italy, and has given masterclasses in the USA, Japan, Korea, Russia, and throughout Europe.

Since 1988, Delangle has been a professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. He is also presently the President of the Association Internationale pour l'Essor du Saxophone and he organizes the Recontres de Boulogne, a meeting between saxophonists and composers.
