Steven Jordheim was a winner of two major performance competitions: the 1983 Geneva International Competition (CIEM) and the 1984 Concert Artists Guild International Competition in New York. He has performed at meetings of the World Saxophone Congress and the North American Saxophone Alliance, and presented his New York debut recital at Carnegie Recital Hall in 1985. In 1999, he was invited to serve as artist in residence at the Xi'an Conservatory in Xi'an, China, and to perform as saxophone soloist with the Lanzhou Orchestra. Composers commissioned by Steven Jordheim to write works for the saxophone include David Maslanka, Rodney Rogers, Leslie Bassett, William Albright and Kenneth Schaphorst. A graduate of the University of North Dakota and Northwestern University, where he was a student of Frederick Hemke, Steven Jordheim studied with Jean-Marie Londeix at the Centre d'arts d'Orford in Quebec, Canada. Steven Jordheim is Professor of Saxophone at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Dane Maxim Richeson is recognized as one of the most versatile virtuosi in the percussion world. Throughout the United States, Europe and Japan, he has been featured in such diverse roles as solo marimbist, chamber musician, ethnic percussion artist, and jazz drummer. Performances have been with such renowned artists as Lukas Foss, Bobby McFerrin, Gordon Stout, Lionel Hampton, Diane Schur, Roscoe Mitchell, Claudio Roditi, and CUBE, among others. His performances have taken place at Ravinia, North Sea Jazz Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival, and broadcast on NPR, CNN, and Wisconsin Public Radio and Television. Mr. Richeson earned degrees from Ithaca College and The Ohio State University, with additional studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is Professor of Percussion at Lawrence University of Wisconsin. |
